Date and Time Calculators

Age Calculator

Calculate age between two dates in years, months, days, total months, weeks, and days.

Calculate age

Enter a date of birth and choose the date on which to calculate the age.

Must be a valid date, not later than the calculation date.
Defaults to today. Past or future dates are allowed.

How to use the Age Calculator

  1. Enter the date of birth.
  2. Keep today’s date or choose another calculation date.
  3. Select Calculate age to see calendar age and elapsed totals.

The main result uses completed calendar years, months, and days. The supporting totals are useful when you need the same duration expressed in complete months, complete weeks, or exact elapsed days.

Age calculation example

For a person born on 15 January 2000, calculated on 20 March 2026:

MeasureResult
Calendar age26 years, 2 months, 5 days
Total complete months314 months
Total elapsed days9,561 days

Understanding the result

Calendar age and elapsed time answer slightly different questions. “Years, months, and days” follows calendar boundaries, while total days is the exact count of midnight-to-midnight intervals. Leap days and months of different lengths mean these totals should not be converted using a fixed 365-day year or 30-day month.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Age Calculator handle leap years?

It uses real calendar dates rather than assuming every year has the same number of days. February 29 and the different month lengths are included automatically.

Why can total months differ from total days divided by 30?

Calendar months range from 28 to 31 days. Total months describe completed calendar months, while total days counts every elapsed day.

Can I calculate my age on a past or future date?

Yes. Choose any valid calculation date that is on or after the date of birth.

Is my date of birth stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser, and CalculatorCheck does not send or save the dates you enter.
